Although working families’ presidential candidate did not win, we made our voices heard. The 55 million Americans who voted for good jobs, health care, retirement security, workers’ freedom to form unions and real homeland security cannot be ignored. Most important, as we worked so hard together over the past months—phone banking, knocking on doors, educating voters and more—we formed a mighty force for change. Our battle continues, and we will go on to build a stronger America for our working families. Our job will be harder than it would have been if we had John Kerry and John Edwards in the White House. But as long as we don’t give up or give in, we will get that job done. In the coming weeks, we will outline plans for union members and other working family activists to continue our fight under what we know will be tough conditions. We’ll make sure you know how to be part of a large, strong and growing movement for change. Thank you for all the hard work you have done to make the voices of working families heard in this presidential election and for all the work ahead. In solidarity, Working Families e-Activist Network
