It's NOT Un-American to Disagree with the President!By Kathleen Jones
Now, more than ever, with so much attention focused on the international scene, we must remain vigilant, and see to it that special interest groups (such as those that represent "Big Business") do not bulldoze over hard-won workers' and unions' rights. In the midst of the current flush of patriotism and feelings of national unity sweeping the country (feelings that, I might add, I share with the rest of America!), some things that require a closer inspection can get shuffled out of the spotlight. That is why it is not a bad idea to occasionally step back and look at the larger picture. While most Americans support President Bush in his role as commander-in-chief of an aggrieved nation, it is also important to recall that he is the same man who, after only six months in office, was responsible for:
